3 out of 5 stars ps3 review   September 15, 2008

I have spent many hours on both the xbox 360 and the ps3 and while the ps3 is much more expensive than the xbox the ps3 also has the least games and in my opinion the games that it has are of a lower quality than the xbox. i have compared many games, call of duty 3 / 4. fifa, tiger woods and many more. the ps3 seems to have a lot of missing items from these games that the xbox includes for some reason. While the comment that the xbox only uses a 8 gig dual layer dvd and isnt as good for games as blu ray is complete rubbish as the xbox uses advanced compression for the data in a similar way to the pc. The controller on the ps3 does not include dual shock and feels very light weight compared to the xbox and ps2. The overall good point od the ps3 is wireless network included and good build quality but the i have seen a lot dvd read errors on the ps3 of late. so my opinion is that they both have strong points and weaknesses.

is the 60gb version of the PS3 the only model to be backwards compatible with PSone and PS2 games?

ive had this consle for about a year now and to begin with i loved it then my first ps3 the 60gb version broke due to an overheat thanks to cod4 so called sony i was out of warranty got it replaced now i have my new one or should i say wont have it for very much longer. The problem is the UPnP just wont work ive tried everythin then i find out its a big problem with newer playstations this pissed me of considerably i couldnt see weather any of my freinds were on or not because it would sign into it then nothin would show none as onlne then just kick me off after 8 weeks with this problem thats it ive had enough with this consle xbox here i come my warning to everybody out there is do your reaserch first before buying e.g. look at the consles record go round a m8s house and play his or whatever but dont beileve what sony or microsoft tell you about there consle make your own decison or do like me and get really annoyed with a consle do your reaserch then and move to the other consle:)

Absolutely brilliant console. Ultra-photo-realistic graphics, easy-to-cope-with controls, AND compatible with almost every PS2 game and some PS1 games as well. It plays Blu-Ray and normal DVDs (and is half the price of a Blu-Ray player), CDs and can also connect to the internet with a built-in modem. br / br /Overall, FANTASTIC! br / br /(Note: 1 minorly annoying thing is that is can get a bit noisy if the hard drive gets too full up, but it's still definitely worth more than whatever you pay for it on Amazon! FAB!)
