4 out of 5 stars Great at first, but not for everyone   August 29, 2008

With this console, more than any other, I'll have to pick my words carefully. I have owned the Wii for a year alongside and an Elite and a PS3. I have had a lot of fun with this console and some of the games, but it lacks something for me which I cannot necessarily put my finger on. br / br /The console is well designed and a lot smaller than the others. The Wii menu is easy to use and the ability to create Miis is a fantastic feature (which Microsoft have copied with their new avatar capibilities due to arrive later this year). You also have the ability to play online as long as you have a broadband connection. br / br /Regarding the games, you get a large list of exclusive titles and multi format games which have been designed with the Wii's controls in mind. I would personally recommend Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Super Smash Bros Brawl. I did not enjoy Mario Kart or Twilight Princess as I'm afraid that they did not give me anything new, but they are worth trying if you are a fan of either the Mario Kart or Zelda series. I think that my problem with the Wii centres on the controls themselves. Yes, they are new and yes, they offer a different dimension, but I have yet to feel blown away by anything so far. I'm not saying that its bad, but I was hoping that by now we would see more from the Wii. br / br /A lot of people criticise the graphics, but it is not a HD machine. If graphics are really important to you, then you have 2 other consoles on the market to cater for what you're after. It is also worth noting that you can download (at a cost) various nintendo classics on the virtual console. br / br /Overall, I would recommend buying this console if you want a new approach to gaming or if you feel like the gaming world has stagnated. The Wii may reawaken the inner gamer in you, but its not necessarily the "Revolution" that Nintendo had envisaged.

This is the best console ever created. The things other companies have tried before and failed Nintendo nail to make a fanastic games console. I was a little unsure buying it as i'd heard bad things about the response times of the controllers to the games but i guess it all depends on which games your playing!! br / br /Buy one! br / br /p.s how can anyone give this a 1 rating?

4 out of 5 stars A good console   August 25, 2008

This is a very good console. Its very fun and goes beyond button bashing, it also lots of good games and channels. It isn't perfect though. The online play is not very good and there are many rubbish games. If you like first person shooters don't get this. My advice is to have a wii downstairs and a ps3 or xbox360 in your room.
