4 out of 5 stars Decent controller   September 18, 2006

I bought the full blown Xbox 360 package so I already own a Wireless Controller, but I wanted a second controller for multiplayer games, and figured that the wired version would do nicely and would also double up as a controller for playing PC games with. br / br /This model is obviously similar to the wireless version, but minus the battery pack and with a USB cable connected. It does indeed work with PCs as well as the 360 but you have to download a driver from Microsoft to neable this. br / br /The controller feels lighter in the hands than the wireless version, mostly due to the removed battery pack. But while the design is basically the same, you can't help but feel that the wired controller isn't manufactured to standards as high as those used for the wireless version. The thumbsticks feel plasticy instead of the rubberized texture of the wireless thumbsticks, and the coloured plastic inset in the controller's underside also appears to be of a lower quality plastic than the one on the wireless controller. br / br /This is a shame because otherwise the wired controller is a well designed game pad for both the xbox 360 and USB equipped PCs.

5 out of 5 stars XBOX 360 wirded pad pc use   June 10, 2006

I am a Huge pc and xbox gamer and have always been a fan of the keyboard and mouse play. After hering hat the 360 pad worked on pc i had to buy one dispite loving the use of a mouse. br / br /The pad works great on pc works with any game pad ready game and with a xbox live headset pluged in the pc picks up on that and aloues the use of the headset as a usb mic. br /The pad gives max cumfuet and is not over or under sesertive. br /the only downfall i have found is the to back trigers are found as the Z axis and meny games for the pc dont use a Z axis so the game cant use them. br / br /Still any xbox turn pc gamer will find this to be a great way to swich and a hardcore pc will love this for racing games and the od FPS. br / br /SORRY FOR MY BAD SPELLING.

5 out of 5 stars Obbiously not quite as free as the wireless remote   February 26, 2006

But on the other hand it interfaces with PC#x27;s as well, allowing you to play any of your PC games (worked amazingly well with good old MDK)

3 out of 5 stars Solid, but still not amazing   January 31, 2006

This pad is a massive improvement on the ones that launched with the original Xbox. The design is solid and comfortable and all the buttone are within easy reach of even tiny handed people like me.pThe analogue sticks are responsive but the raised notches on the left stick can make your thumb sore during exrended play sessions.pNow the big dissapointment is the d pad which is awful. Dead or Alive 4 becomes easier to play on the stick and even Pac Man becomes a chore to play. It#x27;s far too easy to press left when you#x27;re aiming for down and vice-versa; there#x27;s just not enough give when you press on it. pFinally I#x27;d say get yourself the wireless pads and a play and charge adapter, why tether yourself tyo the console and have trailing cables?pOverall a good effort (one extra star if it#x27;s the wireless pad), but the rubbish d pad really lets it down.

This is a great product, u dont need batteries 4 it and is just as good as the wireless controller. The only bad things are that u can only have 2 of them in 360 at a time. Apart from that it is great.
