Got mine from preorder and played it last night, the wheel looks great and works really well. The online play is great fun, all the usual features are there. If you own a Wii then you must buy this game.

Bought a Wii just for this game and not in the least bit disappointed! Had Mario Kart Double Dash on the Gamecube and loved it but this version is just fantastic. br /Being able to play online against players from around the world as well as your friends is just superb. br /Had doubts about the Wii wheel and the range available from the controller, the Wii wheel is easy to handle and very responsive, the range for controller is much better than expected, you are able to sit on the setee and relax a decent distance from the tv. br /

This is an excellent game and it's perfectly suited to the Wii. My other half and I spent all last night playing it and it's possibly the best game so far. br / br /There are a few bugs in the menus that I'm sure will be ironed out for future batches but this doesn't detract from the game. br / br /The wii wheel is a real asset, we bought an extra one so we could both play properly and it was definitely worth it. br / br /Fab game!!

I've only played this game for 4/5 hours on the day of release but havn't got a bad thing to say about it! br / br /Ok, so the main change is the 'WiiWheel' something that myself and other long time mario kart players that i've talked to weren't convinced would work, how wrong were we! No need for you classic/gamecube controller... the wheel is perfect. The sensitivity is spot on and gives you perfect control over your kart... or even bike! br / br /Yeah, point 2, new stuff. Having played all the console version of mario kart for hours/days it's good to see old retro tracks crammed in along with plenty of new. The bikes are a welcome addition, theres no obvious advantage in racing a kart against a bike or vice versa so some races have a mix. The new tracks are great, one or two seem a bit familiar and occasionally some seem a bit 'daft' the tree level for example! The classic trcks have been re-mastered, and the DS ones specifically, look amazing! As for the characters, i havn't unlocked them all yet but there are plenty of new inclusions. br / br /Managed to get 10-15 races done online, very easy to get online and jump straight into a race with players from all over the world. No lag problems to report, was just like a standard race in terms of frame rate etc. Will definately play online again. br / br /Lately i've been playing No More Heroes and Rainbow Six Vegas 2 (360). They have 2 things in common, both are fantastic games, neither will see the light of day now mario kart and the wii are winning the battle for my scart port! br / br /1 Game is rarely a good enough reason to buy a console, but the Wii and Mario Kart will have you going for ages, br / br /Enjoy!

5 out of 5 stars At last, you can choose which controller to use!   April 11, 2008

I've always loved Mario Kart and this is an excellent addition to the franchise; more carts (and motorbikes!), more players and more courses. Initially I was dubious about buying this as the idea of controlling the carts accurately and consistently with the motion sensitive Wiimote filled me with doubt but it is fun. However, you don't have to use that method to control it. You can also use the nunchuck attachment, or the classic controller attachment or even Game Cube controllers; huzzah! Now I can play this game without getting arm ache which is so common with Wii games and I've instantly got enough controllers for all my friends because it takes the Game Cube control. br / br /Overall, great game, mindlessly addictive, infinitely playable and has a limitless play life as even once you've completed all the Grand Prix and have no friends around you can go online and play people from around the globe!
