What happened to Sennheiser? November 4, 2008 Mr. M. Holt (UK) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
Many years ago as a schoolkid, when in-ear headphones were in their infancy, I stupidly bought a 99p set of chunky Chinese plastic in-ear headphones with hideous orange sponge covers that were in a cassette case. The sound was plastic, fragile and "boxy", midranges at all but lowest volumes were clearly pushing the tiny diaphragms beyond their physical limits and upon inserting them you could hear said tiny diaphragms crunching like crisp packets before even switching on. I was instantly reminded of these headphones when I inserted the CX-300s into my ears and more so when I then pressed play on my Walkman! Bass is good but not astounding and the highest trebles do have a clean sparkle but the overall shrill boxy sound from the midrange overpowers it all unless you do some severe adjustments to EQ and then also lose any depth of sound you may have had. They are however very sensitive which allows them to be used at comfortable listening levels at much lower output volumes to save battery or to get more volume out of otherwise quiet/restricted devices. They are also comfortable and secure in the ear and good at blocking out external noise which allows you to hear the brittle plastic boxy sound all the better...
Brilliant! October 31, 2008 D. Foy (UK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just recieved these earphones in the post and already I love them. Previously had the standard iPod earphones which are not great at all. I only paid 7.50 for these earphones from another popular site.... I recommend these earphones as an upgrade to the standard iPod earphones.
Efficient October 25, 2008 Robert Collman (S.E. England) I agree with the excellent reviews. These phones sound good, look good and fit. What hasn't been addressed is their efficiency. They make twice the sound with the same volumn as the Apple ipod phones, thus saving battery and allowing much more listening time on a charge. br / br /
1000x better than iPod headphones, and cheaper. October 20, 2008 Mr. J. T. Staniforth (Notts, England) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
These headphones are a lot better than i expected, especially for just 17. They sound amazing, with great bass and external noise blockage. br / br /They're not so good for watching films though, as you can hear yourself breathing and moving when there isn't any noise, but they're for music anyway.
