4 out of 5 stars Quite amazing   August 13, 2008

Ordered this on Thursday evening and it arrived on Monday , took it out of the box plugged in the mains adaptor switched it on placed my Ipod in the dock and wow! Like so many others who have spent an age listening to mid range products and being disappointed with the sound - well I was blown away - at this price I am seriously looking at getting a second. br / br /The carrying case is impressive, the remote is 'dinky' but performs well and overall the build is comparable with items twice this price. br / br /I would strongly recommend this to anyone who is on the move with their Ipod.

4 out of 5 stars Excellent Product   August 5, 2008

After looking at quite a few portable speakers i finally plumped for the Logitech MM50 and i am very glad i did. What made it stand out from the rest even before i purchased it was the fact that it had its own internal rechargeable battery. This made it a definate no brainer compared to the other products that required 6 or 8 batteries which probably wouldnt last that long. After finally purchasing it and then using it over a weekend of sitting in the garden, i found out that these speakers are a dream. If you want speakers that are going to make the floor shake then these are not for you, but if you want clear good sound in an indoor or outdoor enviroment then these are perfect. They even have a stereo wide function which changes the sound of the music and a lot of times for the better, especially when you are listening to chillout music etc. It also has a remote control which obviously makes things even better and especially as it partly controls the ipod also, but only really when you need to go back and forward in a list of songs and then of course the volume. Overall i would highly recommend this product and espcecially for the price i paid on Amazon, it was a real bargin and perfect for what i wanted.

5 out of 5 stars After lots of research...   July 15, 2008

...I took the plunge with these. br /Despite the design being a few years old now I found the sound to be fantastic, bright and clear - even up to quite considerable volumes. The portability of these is excellent - the provided case is excellent. The speakers are sturdy and the quality of finish through-out is top notch. br /I own the latest gen Nano and whilst this does not come with an adapter (thus risking damage to the dock) I have found a small sticky pad behind the nano (a la Griffin Road Trip) to work a treat. br /To sum up I cannot recommend highly enough - fantastic bang for your buck.

3 out of 5 stars It promised so much..............   May 28, 2008

I actually purchased the logitec mm50 from tesco. I was originally interested in the GEAR4 House Part range, but having read reviews on them, someone reccomended the logitec mm50. br / br /i wanted the speakers from my new 8gb ipod nano. on a plus side i must admit, being able to charge the speakers and get 10 hrs of play is fantastic, meaning you can carry them round the house, in the garden etc. br / br /Also the sound quality that comes out of the small speakers is very impressive, I notice some ppl have compained about the quality of the sound, but for the money the sound is great. br / br /here comes my problems. br / br /The box and desription say its compatable with the new nano, it comes with some adaptions for the dock area to fit your ipod in nicely, unfortunatley non of them are for the nano, there is too much space at the back of the ipod when docked - and due to the remote not being fully functional with the ipod you have to maunally change stuff sometimes, which means you have to put your fingers at the back when pressing the buttons in case it bends and breaks. The remote will alow you to turn the volume up and down, skip songs either on the album you are on, or a play list. It will also alow you to stop and play too. br / br /But if you want to change the album you have to get up and manually change it, which is the problem, as with the space at the back on the nano its highly likely that something will break!!!! and I didn't fancy taking the risk. br / br /Also when trying to take the nano out of the dock, its not easy without handling the screen, as very very limited room down the side of the ipod. br / br /I dont know if it was a dodgy remote I had, but I found the remote didn't respond very well either. Even when 1-2m away, it struggled. I found that when I pressed the skip button once, it would think, then skip through the whole song (instead of taking me to the next song) which should only happen if you hold down the skip button!!! br / br /I was gutted to have to take it back, as it had so much potential. They justed needed to get the dock area right, and also sort the remote out. br / br /Reason why I am giving this 3 stars is due to it being very compact, plus you get a carry case, you can charge your speakers up and have them play for upto 10hrs due to an internaly battery, also the sound quality impressed me. br / br /it may work for other ipods, but my advice is, if you have a new nano, then you may want to think twice, and also bare in mind the remote is not fully functional, so you cant scroll through all the menue options. br / br /if it had cost 20 I could understand and prob cope with the above problems, instead I am on the hunt again for some speakers....thinking about pushing the boat out and getting the klipch ones for 99!!!!! br / br /hope this has helped someone people.
