5 out of 5 stars Its fantastic!!   March 21, 2007

I bought this product and it has exceded my expectations, my reports and assignments now look far more professional, and as a uni student I have a student email address as well as a personal one with hotmail, so I didn't notice the lack of Outlook untill reading the other reviews. I have never used Outlook, so I definately dont miss it. I find the Onenote feature really useful, as I can jot notes in it while typing other bits and later drag my notes into the work where its needed. All the little extras included in this product are great, and I keep finding more helpful features everytime I use it. I definately recommend other students buying it!

Microsoft office has always been way to expensive to justify having it on my laptop when we have one on the desktop (special version restricted to one computer) So for them to finally bring out a product that gives me the basics (excel, word nd powerpoint) is brilliant. You can download outlook express for free so i don't see that as a big problem. Considering that the other versions are about 250, I think this is a really good deal.

4 out of 5 stars Nice little package   March 14, 2007

This product works just fine, you can open documents from all the old versions of word and the "save as" feature allows your to save your documents in fully compatible Word 97 - 2003 forms. As this is pretty much the only program I use I can't really complain about the lack of Access or Outlook. Outlook being an overrated e-mail service anyway, and Access is just for people on computing courses anyway. The only thing I dislike about it is the "non-commercial use" thing... if its going to be non-commercial, i.e. I can't sell my work written in Word, then they may aswell give it away for free... money grabbing b*****ds. Can't deny the quality of the product though.

5 out of 5 stars A complete improvement to 2003   February 21, 2007

I am currently using the trial version of this product and I have to say, I am completely impressed. This is the first time that this product has been marketed as a Home and Student, rather than a Student/Teacher, so it is more affordable for home users, who in the past could not qualify for the Student/Teacher package. br / br /The interface is smooth, with many more functions within a single mouse click, and easy to access. Each time I am using the programmes, I keep finding new functions that are just fantastic - such as cover pages for word documents, with various templates to create a completely professional image. Not undoable before, but now so much quicker. br / br /The lack of Outlook is disappointing, and pricey to add in, but maybe Microsoft will change their minds, then again maybe not. br / br /I've never purchased additional software such as this before, instead making do with whatever is on my computer, but I will not be returning to the previous version. br / br /Very user-friendly, an excellent product.
