Almost perfect but..... October 16, 2008

Finally a decent security program that delivers exactly what it says on the tin. It is indeed a very descreet piece of software and leaves only a tiny footprint on system resources. The interface takes a while to get used to as it is very in-depth and not very user friendly at the start but you get used to it. I used to use the free avg and thought that it caught all virus etc but boy was I wrong, as soon as I started my first scan it found all sorts of 'crap' which scared me a little, it cleaned them all up with no trouble. One very useful feature is the ability to pause protection for a few minutes which can come in handed if your downloading something and want to boost your speed for a couple of min. I only have problem with this and that is when running a full scan, I would suggest doing this overnight as it takes a while (maybe just my pc) and it does hog a lot of system resource. Overall if I was to buy a security program this would be it and this is coming from someone who always used to use free internet security products!

If you're looking for good reliable security, then Kaspersky offers a solid defence. I've been demoralised with Norton and McAfee over recent years, so i'm glad I converted. The interfaces are clear, it doesn't slow down your PC very much at all, and their are few annoying pop ups. We have Windows XP and 1.5 GB of RAM, and our computer still flies!

I purchased this product recently having previously used AVG until I become annoyed with the intrusive style of the daily updates. The product arrived quickly but when I went to install it a message said that a newer version was available for download and it recommended I did so. When complete I entered the registration key only to have it rejected. I looked up Kaspersky and called a number where the advice was to check the computer date was correct and if so log a support item. The long and short of it was that after numerous emails their advice was to return the software to Amazon! I packaged it all up to go back and then decided to have one more attempt to resolve this. I found a different Kaspersky site this time, clearly a UK only one. One call to the technical department gave me a new key in seconds. This worked straight off and so I will now get to try out the app. I sure hope it was worth the effort!

Overall, this is a good product. It offers a comprehensive security suite, is fairly easy to install and quite an intuitive package. This is, supposedly, one of the most secure packages around with good virus detection performance according to tests. It's not too much of a system resource hog either, although I knocked off one star as tings do slow down when it does a background scan. But overall, a good one-stop complete security solution.

br /Brilliant product.Works perfectly, in the background, with regular automatic updates, without glitches of any description. br / br /I replaced a Norton Internet Security software package with the Kaspersky as the Norton was causing serious issues on my PC. br / br /The Kaspersky runs like a dream. Give it a try. Soon.
