"Fantastic" March 5, 2006 J. Taylor (Shropshire) 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
It is brilliant, I love this toy, especially when you turn the money box on and open the doors, it speaks and my favourite is you close the doors and the light on top flashes and the TARDIS flight noise comes blasting out.brIt isn#x27;t that educational, i mean its an educational toy if your making a cardboard TARDIS money box like I am at the moment, you can see how it looks and how the doors work but overall it isn#x27;t that educational.
That was the TARDIS? Ouch! February 16, 2006 Bryan (uk) 10 out of 14 found this review helpful
Having been a great fan of the series from the sixties, when it was announced that a Police Box with sound effects was being launched, I couldn#x27;t believe my luck. I purchased the item before Christmas and saved it until Christmas Day. I then inserted the batteries (because they weren#x27;t supplied - *tsk*) and then #x27;finally#x27; worked out how to open the doors. Erm! I didn#x27;t really catch what was said - it was just an awful sound. I then deposited my money into the slot and closed the doors, as per the instructions and ...EEK! I had to cover my ears to protect them from the awful sound which was meant to be the TARDIS dematerialising! Really??? The next time I used the money box, the Doctor spoke some different words but they sounded more like words spoken by a Dalek! When I closed the doors again, I instantly regretted it! I haven#x27;t used the money box since! So, all told, a very disappointing piece of merchandise - though I must say, as a police box it looks good!

Well I don#x27;t know what the previous reviewers were chuntering about; I went to Woolies and bought batteries just like that! The TARDIS is a great looking, sturdy and hugely satisfying piece of #x27;Who#x27; merchandise - as far as educational value is concerned I can see none (and I#x27;m a teacher!) Wouldn#x27;t that take all the fun out of it though..?
The Tardis Rocks January 20, 2006 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
I would just like to say that this is a must for all Doctor Who Fans...forget that it's a money box, that is just a bonus-i finally have somewhere to store my 2p's. The true awesomeness of this product is that finally they have produced a tardis toy that makes the legendary take off sound. If like me you are just in awe of the vision of the famous blue box, I can just sit there and look at it and it gives me a buzz, you simply must buy this item. Turn it on and the take off noise starts and the light flashes...truely genius...buy now!!!!!! Don't worry about the batteries, they are available from most stores....well worth the money!!!!! Just remember to turn the box off when you are not using it, this will make them last longer. Durability??? If you want it as a decorative feature it will be fine...if you give it to a child with a hammer...then it might break. Educational value????..everyone needs educating about Doctor Who....this is the ultimate Tardis model...Buy Buy!!! ....Bargain!!!
A nicely detailed and fun item January 16, 2006 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
As a long time fan, I own several TARDIS models and this is probably the best and cheapest so far. The model appears to be of the correct proportions and has a nice wood-grain affect. Other nice touches are the yale lock and dummy telephone inside the doors and the photograph of the TARDIS interior which is exposed when the doors are opened. The sound effects and voices are accurate and of a good reproduction. My 18 month old son also thinks it is great but I think it could be easily broken by vigorous play. Only down-side is the lack of batteries, but see my previous review for where to get these at a good price.
