Unfortunately I fell for Mrs C A Deggs review and thought I was buying a pen with a little torch in the end. More fool me, that should teach me to look at the product properly. br / br /As for the product; It's a torch in the shape of a pen. It gives a nice blue light that's fairly bright. A decent enough cheap novelty item. br / br / br /

I just wanted to mention that Mrs. C. A. Degg (see the review above, somewhere) seems to have her wires crossed- this product neither acts as a pen nor makes noises of any kind (unless you hit something with it, but that doesn't count). br / br /As for my thoughts on the product- it could be much better built, and it'd be nice if it wasn't plastic, but if you're looking for a torch in the shape of a sonic screwdriver than you can't go far wrong with this product. It's a bit smaller than the Doctor's version, but that's not really a bad thing as it means it'll fit in your pocket amongst the yo-yos, dice and jelly babies that little bit better...

Our daughter really thinks that this is a marvelous bit of Doctor Who kit. br / br /She liked the look of this item and was desperate to have one that she bought this for herself (you can always tell if your child wants something so badly if they offer to buy it) after having traipsing through lots of shops to find one in stock. br / br /It always seems to live in her jeans trousers and goes out with her most times, yes she truely is a Doctor fan. (She even has to have the Doctor's shoes and glasses). Maybe this is just a phase, god I hope so otherwise it could be quite an expensive time for us parents. Luckily her dad and brother are also just as bad as her so she is not alone. br / br /Any Doctor Who merchandise that is out she has to look at and this item is quite a clever one, (not just a one week wonder) you can use the light as your mini torch (useful for powercuts or seeing to get your key in car lock in pitch black, well if camping and no lights in middle of campsite. Quite a bright light for a small item. br / br /Also it is a pen so not just one useful item but more and the best thing is that it makes noises (the sounds are realistic) well that is according to our daughter. (The batteries do seem to last an awful long time, either that or they get changed without my knowledge! br / br /It is very well made as it has been dropt a few times on a hard surface and also manhandled by her five year old brother, but is still going strong, after six months. br / br /A good priced pocket money toy, or bribery present for any Doctor Who fan (no matter what their age is, afterall aren't all Doctor Who fans either big girls or big boys at heart?) br / br /Our daughter bought hers from Argos as it was slightly cheaper than most other retail outlets and also in stock, plus it came with batteries, which is always something to consider as they can turn out to be quite expensive especially at a time like Christmas when most toys/gifts seem to require them. br / br /Further to Mr Briggs comments, anything can become possible with the help of the Doctor (surely adults can also believe in the impossible to and pretend that the item is a pen or whatever (our five year old does). Use your imagination.
