...an educated taste in whiskey and women...God's holy trousers...detriments? Detriments like us built this bloody empire; hat's on...if a Greek can do it, we can do it...met upon the level, part on the square...how to divide 5 Afghan's from 3 mules...God's holy trousers...looks like last post - ain' it a bloody shame...not gods exactly, Englishmen...slaughter your enemies like civilised men..great bloody show off, acting like some green lieutenant...you may kiss my royal ars...she's not a wife, she's a going concern...follow you?who had hold of the mule's tail...God's holy trousers...brass it out Danny...pGet the gist?pWould have been 5 stars but for Billy Fish; brilliantly played but a little cheesey; far too loyal - even for a rifleman.

Last night I subjected myself to Oliver Stone's 'Alexander', but tonight I watched Michael Caine and Sean Connery in the real thing. Thirty years on, and the cinematography blows the modern Hollywood away - watch Daniel and Peachey as they struggle through the Hindu Kush without the aid of computer enhanced graphics, retracing the steps of Alexander the Great - truly this is one of the greatest films of all time.

Proper mint film. In summary Connery, Caine, Huston, and a class story by Kipling = One hell of a quality film. this is one of those films that no collection should be without. nuff said.

THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING is an excellent adventure film set in the nineteenth century about two oportunists who conspire to gain control of a small mountain kingdom in Central Asia. It is based on a Rudyard Kipling story. The movie is directed by John Huston. Sean Connery and Michael Caine play the parts of the two adventurers while Christopher Plummer has a small role as Rudyard Kipling. The motion picture drags in spots but overall it is quite memorable.pTHE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING won Oscar nominations in 1975 for Best Adapted Screenplay, Costume design, Art Direction and Editing.
