Varied and educational February 26, 2005 Jeremy Mcgee (Deepest Gloucestershire, UK) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Like most two year olds my L. loves to imitate Daddy at the computer. This package is a good way for littl'uns to learn how to use the computer and get some other basic skills, too.pThe cute cartoon characters conduct a variety of different games. All need a certain amount of dexterity with the mouse, so this won't really be suitable for those that can't figure that out. (But how many toddlers can't?)pThe games focus on letter recognition, shape recognition, the idea of "larger" and "smaller", and basic counting. Some are excellent, for instance the counting game introduces the idea of number through recognition of quantities of balloons. The letter recognition game, too, seems to work well.pOthers are good but let down by the interface. The shapes game is too fast for us, and the sorting game demands that animals are picked up in the right order -- too hard for the under 4s, I'd say. As L. gets older he might be able to handle this.pThis is an American product but most of the voice overs are recorded in British English. Some of the elements of the package reflect the American background including the "assessment test", some of the music, and the cutesy images.
