5 out of 5 stars My childhood game   April 29, 2008
A. Forrest (England)
My sister and I loved this series of games. We would spend a long time on it having fun and pushing our logic that bit further. We recently re-bought it (our original only worked on windows 95 I think) and spent ages re-living it all over again. Yes, perhaps recently we have not been on it that much, as we are now 18 and 19 years old and are at college and uni, but I have to recommend it to everyone. Also, if you want to buy some computer games for your kids but don't want their brains to mush, we loved 'Maths Rescue' and 'Word Rescue' - fantastic for learning how to spell and do basic maths sums. Overall, love it! :)

Excellent game! 9 y-o son is currently inseparable from the computer, and it doesn't involve shooting anything or driving like J Clarkson. Only reason for 4 stars is that's what my son told me to do. His quote: "It's just fun"! br / br /

I'm a special needs teacher in ireland and the kids i teach (ages 13-15) absolutely love the logical maths journey. I really like playing it too. I don't rate mountain rescue at all just seems too difficult.

5 out of 5 stars Zoombinis are the best   April 18, 2006

I bought the first Zoombinis disc for my son 3 years ago when he was 6 and he loved it then and, having bought the other 2 programs since then, he still enjoys playing them all. These programs really are brilliant for kids and adults too - they teach maths, logic and science all under the guise of an addictive adventure game format. It takes many hours of play to complete each program but as they can be saved at any stage, you can return again and again. The variations in the Zoombinis mean that each challenge is different every time. The pace of the games is very gentle and the style of graphics and musical background are also calming so kids don't get hyped up - but don't be deceived - the games are genuinely challenging particularly at the highest level. br / br /I cannot recommend these games highly enough - I just wish there were more programs like these.

I can remeber playing this when I was in middle school too and we could only play it at lunch times or near the end of term, when I knew you could get a home edition, it's not just available to schools, I HAD to get it!brMy favorite level is the pizza level too and when they got to zoombini island, awww! Great game, buy it, not for your children, for you!
