This monitor is fantastic! After making the extremely hard decision to move our three month old to his own room, all i can say is that this monitor has been a god send!BRPYes we're first time parents, and so at first you are stuck with the question of do you buy a monitor with night vision, with plates that you can monitor your babies breathing, or do you relax and listen to your friends that the more your monitor has the more you will worry! Well we listened to them all and opted for the Platinum!BRPYes it monitors the temperature, but this is good for knowing exactly what to put your baby in to sleep -- will they be too hot too cold -- with this you know, it also has a light display which shows if your baby is crying, a vibration alert, and also you can choose to turn the volume up and listen to your babies every move. It really is great, we can hear our little fella sleeping from the comfort of our own bed!BRPThe monitor also has a nightlight, a feeding/sleeping/changing timer -- which can be useful. It has a very cool function of talkback, so you can speak to your baby through the monitor -- a little freaky for a young baby but extremely good fun for scaring/freaking partners, friends and relatives! Pros: br /+Locks signal quickly br /+Thermometer is useful and reasonbly accurate br /+Digital so no interference (our Analog unit was abysmal) br /+Good support from Tomy br /+Useful to be able to communicate with Mum when she's feeding the sprog I'm cooking dinner. br /+Good sound. br /Cons br /-The style looks cute and chubby in the shop. But the ergonomics are rubbish. The buttons are way too easy to press. (Including the on button). The belt clip is useless. br /-Replacement battery is 3 NiMH AAA cells in a custom packplug for an extortionate 13 br /

This is a good monitor, the sound is great and there is no interference, but I agree with other peoples opinions about the battery life being low, and i've also had the same problem of the lights flickering on the parent unit when there is no actual sound. The night light is lovely but there should be a seperate button because you can turn the monitor off when trying to turn the night light on and vice versa. I also like that you can turn the night light on and off using the parent unit. The best feature is the room temperature display as its pretty accurate and provides peace of mind in my opinion. Overall this monitor has great sound and some nice features, but it could be improved.

We bought this monitor 5 months ago when our baby was born and we think it is excellent. It has a very clear sound, so clear I can even hear her breathing when she is in her cot! The battery lasts about 10 hours when not plugged in but this, I think, is more than enough. br /The most useful function is the temperature display which is accurate and brilliant for working out what to put on your little one at bedtime. br /A great buy!
