Product Description We've all seen these in use. The International Space Station guidance computer is malfunctioning and the under-pressure astronauts need to perform a complex calculation to adjust its orbital path. Do they use a Bic biro with a bitten-down end? No they do not. They use the Bullet Space Pen, selected by NASA decades ago as the Rolls Royce of performance writing implements - and still relied on today for its unrivalled performance in Zero G environments. This well-travelled, gas-powered little invention was pioneered by a team led by Paul Fisher in 1965 and is capable of working to infinity - and beyond. It works in extreme cold. (Down to minus 45 Celsius). It works in extreme heat. (Up to 120 Celsius). It works underwater. Over grease. Upside down. In fact, it flawlessly performs in some of the harshest environments so far explored by man. Precision stainless steel tungsten carbide ball points, powered by a fully pressure ink cartridge enable this design classic to write longer, cleaner and more consistently than almost any other pen. And, with the complete elimination of leaks and evaporation, it will happily sit at your desk for a century - and outlive you, Neil, Buzz and the entire astronaut corps. When you need to write on, write on with the pen that's right on. And make your point - with a Bullet.

A great pen for advanced users December 19, 2007 Jeffrey Falduto (New Jersey, USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
The fisher space pen is easily the best pen I've ever used. It can write on grease, underwater, upside-down, and in extreme hot and cold temperatures. It also write flawlessly at room temperature which is where I do 90% of my writing. The ridges on the grip also excel at removing the cuticles from your fingernails if you rub the area vigorously.
pencil rumour September 7, 2006 Christopher Cunningham (northern ireland) 3 out of 13 found this review helpful
the rumour about the russians using a pencil in space is untrue because if the lead broke it could have gotten into the instruments in the space ship and broke them
Cool gadget May 2, 2004 Joe Robson 10 out of 12 found this review helpful
I got one of these for last xmas, it's very cool. You can be as lazy as you want and it will write at any angle! The design is very sleek too.pOf course, I heard that while NASA was off developing a multi-million dollar space pen project, the Russians just used a pencil to combat the effects of zero gravity...
