A Stunning Television From Toshiba August 26, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Got this over the weekend and am absolutely chuffed to bits with it.
The picture is crystal, the set-up a doddle (had it working within 2 minutes, seriously!) and it looks really classy with the silver trim around edges. Haven't played around with all of the sound settings yet but even with what it's set on at the moment, wow. Can't wait to hook it up to some surround-sound!
Also loving the fact that it has a "proper" on/off switch at the back, might seem like a silly thing to mention, but with all the energy-wasting propaganda that's getting thrown at us, you can feel all secure in the knowledge that you're not using standby instead.
Well impressed!

Ordered this on Tuesday afternoon, and it arrived at 8.30 Wednesday morning (bargain express delivery at 7) The picture on this panel is amazing using Component(1080p) for the Xbox 360. once you have spent time adjusting the colour settings( the deepest settings I've seen in a panel without using engineer codes to get into the setup). I think the picture for the xbox 360 is slightly better using the vga cable and game mode (personal preference) also this allows my hddvd to upscale standard dvds. PC input via HDMI at 1920 x 1080 resolution is fantastic and brings alive media center. Sky HD looks great - again some fine tuning would be needed but its worth the hour or so setting this panel up as the quality will blow you away. The only downside is this is such a good panel is that it will show up major flaws in the transmission of standard tv signals ( itv channels are the worse offenders)
Overall i would say this is the best panel for the price if you want serious picture quality and i have really looked at lots from samsung to panasonic.
One Great TV! July 31, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have had this TV for a little over a month now and I am very pleased with it and am considering buying a second one to get rid of the other CRT in the house. One of the reasons I went for it is because it's a very good budget TV, I didn't want to spend a great deal on LCD because I don't fully trust the technology yet. My first LCD, a Samsung, failed within six months, and Samsung's are supposed to be great.
One of the best features this TV has, that most LCDs don't, is the OFF BUTTON. It's a proper button like those on the CRTs. When I first set the TV up I thought it was faulty because I didn't know where to locate the button. But I found it, well hidden at the back on the left about mid-way down.
The sound isn't too bad, could be better, but that doesn't bother me too much because I always use an external source. The HD picture, however, is awesome. I have just had Sky HD installed and although at this time it is only set at 1080i the engineer showed me Discovery HD. I could see the leaves on the trees going up the mountain in the distance. It is glorious and the colour is almost unbelievable. You tend to get bad pixelation when viewing normal TV programs from about 10 years or older. But that's not too bad when sitting at a reasonable distance from the TV.
A nice little set July 22, 2008 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Toshiba 32XV505DB - 32" Widescreen 1080p Full HD LCD TV With Freeview Arrived 2 days ago, setting a bit high but with adjustment you can see the picture improvement, Blue Ray plus HD DVD crystal sharp, Hd by Freesat and Sky good. Low bit rate used by ITV shows up on this set, and the UKTV channels. Well worth the money. Go for a full 1080p HD
