Brightness Problem October 2, 2008 TV is fine apart from having to increase the brightness each time it is switched on, until it warms up. Seems to be less of a problem if the TV is left on standby.
Does anyone else have the same problem?
Excellent value September 28, 2008 I ordered this for my daughter's bedroom. From the reviews I was expecting it to be fairly good but it's better than I expected. Picture quality is excellent, sound is perfectly good for our use (some reviews had said it was a bit tinny), it looks good and, being white, it "disappears" quite well when it's folded back against the wall when not in use. The only area it suffers is in the digital programme guide. Unlike every other digital TV I've owned or seen, this one allows you to see either a list of channels or a list of programmes on the current channel. You can't display a scrolling grid showing 8 or 10 channels with the next few hours of programmes on each. If this was our main TV that would be very annoying but my daughter doesn't mind at all. Despite this, for the price I still have to give it 5 stars. All in all we're very pleased with the set and may be getting another one for her younger sister.
Far better than you'd expect for the price September 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After reading some of the other reviews I was a little concerned about the negative comments regarding the viewing angle. However, when I connected up the set my worries were unfounded. The viewing angle is as good as far more expensive sets we also own and switching into 'Vivid' mode made it even better. The set looks great, the white case seems to disappear against our walls leaving a floating picture, nice. Image quality and response time is great, even from a non-HD source. A DVD on the SCART worked great and the On Screen Guide is as fast as our Sony. A real bargain !
Better receiver than my Sony Bravia September 5, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this for the Kitchen like so many others and echo their positive comments - but also the freeview reception is much stronger than on my Sony Bravia - even in the rain and I live in the shadow of a hill. The Sony only works with satellite here, but that is not connected to the kitchen so I did book a new aerial and amplifier - but have cancelled this as the receiver is so good - all channels working great. You won't regret buying this when you get over the " do they make TV's ??? " - YES and good ones !!
exactly what it said on the box September 5, 2008 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
polaroid TLU 19" widescreen HDready LCD-white son had 14" old fashioned portable in bedroom, was looking for LCD for better graphics for his XBox didnt want to pay over the odds, so sat here for ages reading reviews, settled on this TV and absolutely thrilled with it.My son had it set up in minutes ..ok hes 14 he, and all kids can do such things without the aid of instructions ...everyone elses reviews helped me with my choice and I can only join them and recommend.
