Yes this film was low budget,yes it is austrailian and it was one of the first movies from village roadshow pictures backed and distributed by warner bros!!!! but give it the chance and you will be pleasently surprised!! in this film kylie minogue picked charlene mitchell up by the hair and with great power chucked her through the window never to be seen again!.
as she does now,kylie new exactly what she was getting herself into, and in my opinion got it right!. a gritty, emotional film totaly complimented by kylie's authentic portrayal of lola lovell!! just watch those emotional scenes closely ( in the kitchen, the phone box and locked in the bedroom!) charlene who? this is a great actress, fact!! and what the hell this is a good movie.
watch this film with an open mind, dont judge kylie minogue the phenomonon,dont watch it wanting to hate it because kylie is a respectable recording artist! just watch it to enjoy a good film, with an artist starting out in movies learning her craft (well).

I saw this in 1990 and Kylie was the biggest thingthen this fim made No.1 in the Box office and the track "tears on my pillow" achieved the same feet the same week in the singles chart, The story is gritty, the characters also have a pretty good script, due to the subject matter the film works to its best, Kylie at least got some chance to act in this film, If you like Australian movies this one fits the bill nicely.
