Still the leader of the natural history pack! January 27, 2004 Strath_Bookworm (Scotland) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
A fantastic collection of DVDs, showing a geographically diverse range of species in their natural environments, from kiwis and albatrosses in New Zealand to dunnocks and great tits in the presenters' large garden! A superb, at times spellbinding, documentary of these wonderful creatures. The DVD's extra material is quite short, but also very interesting as it gives an insight into the huge undertaking filming a series such as this is.
Simply Superb June 6, 2001 marktodd@worldonline.co.za (Cape Town, South Africa) 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have long had an interest in birds and would not have thought that a series of this depth could keep me as fascinated as it did. Simply superb!
David Attenborough explores the life of our feathered friend April 12, 2000 Glenn Richards (Glos, UK) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
David Attenborough returns on top form with this, his best series so far. Initially covering a brief history of the evolution of birds, it then covers every aspect of a bird's life in the way that only David Attenborough knows how. This is even better than The Private Life Of Plants. If there's one criticism, it's merely that it hasn't yet been released on DVD.
