5 out of 5 stars outstanding musical   February 17, 2006

On first watching this video, I loved and still love this musical. If you loved "Seven brides for Seven brothers", you'll love "Kismet". Howard Keel is a charming vagabond with a daughter who attracts the love of the sultan, who is travelling incognito, The songs and musical items are brilliant and unforgettable. The dance routines memorable. Its a crying shame that a DVD format in region 2 is not available, why??

3 out of 5 stars disappointing   October 25, 2003

I know this is an old film, but both the sound and picture quality were disappointing, and it is not wide screen format. I remember seeing it on television in wide-screen, and I certainly noticed the difference

5 out of 5 stars A musical extravaganza   August 27, 2003

The devine Howard Keel makes an appearance as a small time crook in an Arabian Adventure. After mistaken identity the Caliph falls for Keels screen daughter. A series of misunderstandings ensue culminating in a terrific ending. Beautiful music, costumes and a great story, they just don't make them like they used to.
