Re: My Wifes cancer

update:

She is still in hospital, the doctors can't find the infection. They think it may be in the brain so they are talking about doing a lumbre punch. She really doesn't want that. She did have a headache today but it started to subside this afternoon and she is fairly sure it was becasue there was something in her dinner she's not suposed to eat (gluten). I Pray she doesn't need a lumbre punch and they check her kidneys out before discharging her. Aparently the chemo damages kidneys.

Her neutrophils (baby white blood cells) are very low and they need to be much higher before she can start her next round of chemo tommorow.

thanks for everyones prayers.

Re: My Wifes cancer

Update:

prayers have been answered. The hospital kicked her out today without the lumbrepunch.

They gave her a whole heap of antibiotics to take so with anyluck she will be able to start her next round of chemo next week.

Thank you everyone.

Re: My Wifes cancer

hat's great to hear! She's going to beat this yet!

OK, Let's all do a little victory dance!

Except for you DrF, you know what you should do, Eh!

P.S. I realize the war is not over, but each battle won is a victory worth celebrating.

Re: My Wifes cancer

drf that's great news and proof that prayer does work!

I really and truly feel for what the two of you are going for, my dad had cancer and it's a rough thing for anyone to go through. You and your wife will be added to our prayers too.

Re: My Wifes cancer

Fantastic DRF, but please, whilst everyone is thanking god for everything he did and proof of his great works and all, please, how about a little bit of recognition for the all important human input by everyone concerned?? Doctors, nurses, staff at the hospital and all ancillary services.

Whilst the doctors may at times be making heaps of moolah, I can pretty well assure you that the nurses and everyone else don't, and the vast majority of them do care.

It must be a thankless task at times, with probably way too many 'losses' in the critical care field which must also be emotionally draining.

And when they finally DO get a 'win' in the critical care, all the credit seems to go elsewhere..................

Re: My Wifes cancer

You have my prayers and Marian has my prayers. These are times of life I don't fully understand but accept. The final decision is not ours to make.
