Re: Defensive Carry Handguns

Been awhile since this topic has been brought up, but I finally got my CHL in the mail last week, and I did purchase a handgun several months ago (9mm Springfield XDM 3.8). It's too bulky for me to carry around though, so it just stays next to my bed. I'll buy something slim for my ccw eventually

Re: Defensive Carry Handguns

I went through several testing them for the home. I carry the Kahr P380, but for home I keep an XDM 9mm 4.5" with the Trijicon night sights... along with a 20 gauge pump shotgun.

Re: Defensive Carry Handguns

A pump shotgun is one of the best home defense weapons out there sometimes the pump action is enough to deter the criminal since they are familiar with the sound plus depending on the load at close range one shot usually does the job.

Re: Defensive Carry Handguns

Have you heard the 911 call that has been playing on the recent news of the woman with her children on the phone with her husband, while he is on the line with 911?

http://www.usatoday.com/videos/news/...01/10/1822877/

I think everyone should be prepared for these kind of situations. Had they not had a gun... or had she not knew how to use a gun, her and her children may not be alive today. It is sad that we have to go to these lengths to protect ourselves, but what else can we do?

Strange that this thread has recently resurfaced. My wife and I attended our CCW class yesterday and filed our paperwork today with the county Sheriff. I bought a Springfield XD 9mm and my wife has a Smith&Wesson M&P 9mm compact. We've been spending a lot of time at the range getting a feel for our guns. Needless to say this has been a rather volatile subject in my area but I say better to have and not need than need and not have.

Gen 3 Glock 26 9mm with Pearce +3 grip extensions is my choice for CCW.

Re: Defensive Carry Handguns

I CCW a Kahr PM 40 ( .40 subcompact). Like carrying a wallet, but with a bigger punch.
For work its a H&K P2000 LEM (.40 cal).
