I got that same blast a little bit ago.

Yep, appears to be brand new. Glad they have that offered now, should be pretty impressive for fairly little dough. Pair up a couple of these and you'd probably have more impact and less damage to your wallet than a single high end 18

I'm just glad to see PE adding new drivers. They're always a great compromise between value and performance.

........and free shipping!

Re: New Dayton 18" Sub available

I just ran this through WinISD and have to say I am not impressed.

It only has 12.75mm of xmax which is more like Pro sound subs then a good home theater sub. The Titanic 15" has 20.5mm xmax and in the same size 3cuft enclosure the Titanic has a slight edge in output as it can take more power. Might as well buy the Titanic 15" and save $50 than this new 18" IMHO.

I have added the WinISD file to the Downloadable WinISD Pro Files section here at the HTS.

Re: New Dayton 18" Sub available

Wow...yeah I didn't either. Well that kinda ruins it. I figured xmax would be at least 18mm or so. Oh well.

Re: New Dayton 18" Sub available

I guess you can look at it another way. 4 of these subs at the discounted bulk rate are about the same price as a single LMS Ultra 18" but will outperform it, especially in the mid-bass. Who knows about SQ though, it does look like Dayton added some features to reduce distortion but the LMS Ultra is the low distortion king.

It is just odd to see a 18" sub that it marketed towards the DIY sub market to have such low xmax.

Re: New Dayton 18" Sub available

The Dayton priced fairly high for what it is. I'd go for the Stereo Integrity 18 D2 in this price range.
