Just one driver in the IB? How big is the room?

Modelling shows the IB with 400 watts puts out the same SPL at 20 hz as sealed with 1000 watts.

i used to have a 12" driver in a 3 cuft sealed box powered by 150 watt plate amp that shook the room. My guess is that i can get enough output with this 18" inch driver and a 1200 watt amp?

i can also built it ported...maybe thats the best plan, go back to the original box.

Any problem with building a ported box in the basement, right under the floor of the room that it is playin into?

the driver and the port would open into a chamber that is roughly 24" wide, 30" tall and 16" deep.

i can snap a picture if that helps...

here are some pics...thinking the chamber would stay and the driver would be in the same location. i would build a box around it, either ported or sealed.

I can't say for sure what effect a driver and port firing into a chamber will have.

i would like to think it would be similar to a rear firing or down firing sub. IOW have little or no effect

i could flip the thing to fire up...that would not be too hard, and take up less room in the basement.
