That might be the best way to go.

may not be able to do that...opening in the floor is 24" wide, and only 14" deep because of the floor joist.

Hence the baffle i built...so i am going to have to go forth with firing it into the baffle and hope for the best.

Just need to decide sealed or ported.

I am going to build a sealed box for this driver this weekend. Is there any reason to go larger than say 5 cu ft? Or should i go smaller?right now i have the wood to go as large as 7...but i am thinking that may be too big?

With 1000 watts there would be less than 2 db difference in output between 4 and 7 cu.ft.

Re: I have an 18" sub and i want to know if it will work in a sealed box for HT

thanks...maximizing output is not my goal here...i just want a nice lowend sound. SQ is more important than loudness. I had to work today so i didn't do anything. I think i am going to tear everything down to square one and look at the best way to make this work...who knows i may end up mback to porting it.

I just worry being under the room and firing into the floor that porting may lead to more cancelation issues than sealed will. the whole keep it simple stupid theory.

For SQ a box of 5 cu.ft will give a .7 Qtc.
