Re: Help with Sonotube planning

How big is your room and is it sealed off from the rest of the house?

Re: Help with Sonotube planning

Here is a mostly to scale sketch of my room ( rounded just a little) each cube is 1 ft x 1 ft. It's carpeted with 9 foot ceilings. The furniture, speakers, TV, and sub are not to scale just placed to show where they are at in the room. I have a small hall way behind the main listening room with two doors - one going into a bathroom and one to a bedroom. Off the the left of the main listening room is just a free space that's currently a 'kids zone' and then goes up stairs. I have one large window (58" x 46") in the main area.

Re: Help with Sonotube planning

I would say the UM15-22 sealed would match the out put of the SVS at 20 hz. Room gain is room specific, you could get anywhere from 6 to 10 db or more at 20 hz and lower.

So if I can get some decent EQ with REW then I should have usable output down to 16 Hz?

I modeled the UM-15 in WinISD 0.5a7 with a 3 cu ft sealed box. It's telling me -11 db @ 20Hz. Did I do that right?

Yes, that's how it models.

Sorry for all the questions, still learning . The svs is -5 db at 20 hz, the dayton is -11. How are you saying the output is comparable?

Re: Help with Sonotube planning

The SVS PB12-NSD was tested on the Data Bass website and shows 103 db at 20 hz. The modeling (SPL graph) of the UM-15 is about the same.
