Question Need Help: Bad Sound from Quality Cans/Are My Ears Broken

Howdy all.

Been trying to figure out a problem over on some forums, having no luck. Figure it's time to bring things home. Any and all suggestions appreciated.

Herre's the quick and dirty:

Bought the Audio Technica DSR9BT, and SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless.

Both sound really bad to my ears, trying to figure out why.

Sonically, it is exactly as if one or both of two things is happening to the signal.

Either, someone stuffed the driver into a Conch/Seashell and I am listening to that pressed against my ear.

Or, the signal is being run through VirtualDJ, and having the Vocals+ effect active and applied to it.

Sounds like some very cheap dollar store earphones do, to be honest. Or at least, it's a step in that direction.

But DSR9BT? Cheap? Lol.

All of this coming from a pair of Audio Technica WS99BTs which sound like night and day, for the better.

Any ideas?
