HDMI Cable

I am in need of a good quality HDMI Cable. I have a 40' run. Right now I am using Blue Jeans cable HDMI-DVI but soon I will be making a decision on the Marantz 7701 or their flagship 8801.
The BJ cable has worked just fine however it is a pretty thick HDMI cable and I was hoping to purchase something a little more flexible. I did look at Tributaries and the price was a lithe steep...around $325.00
Also I will need some shorter runs about three eight footers and I would like to have them all from the same company.

I have heard of Perfect Path cables but no nothing about their products.
Any suggestions? Think thin and flexible.

Thanks, Frank

I've heard good things about the Redmere cables for long runs.

Re: HDMI Cable

Hello,
What do you believe to be lacking in your current HDMI Cables. As for whether or not to get the AV7701 or 8801, I highly recommend reading Kal's excellent review of the Marantz AV8801 which is available online at stereophile.com.
Best,
J

Re: HDMI Cable

My apologizes KAL.
Thank you for your suggestion. I already checked the web-site. Very moderate pricing and the reviews were very favorable.
Again I apologize

Re: HDMI Cable

JJ
Blue Jean cable are fine but they are HDMI-DVI and I will need HDMI-HDMI with either Marantz processor.
Thanks for the info on the 8801 review. I am going to read it now. I am not sure if I want to put out all of those $$$ for something that I know I won't be using 100% of its capabilities and features.
I can get the 7701 for $1300.00 after trade in value for my Outlaw 990. I am not sure how much more my dealer will give me for the 990 if I deceide to go for the 8801.

Re: HDMI Cable

I have the Monoprice Redmere cables at 30'. Very nice quality it is smaller is less than my Blue Jeans cable, and much smaller than the Monoprice 24 AWG ones.

Re: HDMI Cable

+1 to Monoprice's RedMere cables. But if you can live with the thickness of your existing cable, all you need is an inexpensive DVI-HDMI adapter and you're set.

(I still use my 50' DVI-DVI cable from BlueJeansCable - I just added DVI-HDMI adapters to both ends.)

Re: HDMI Cable

I would think with all of those connections there would definitely be problems with your picture.
Sorry but it just doesn't sound right HDMI-DVI then back to HDMI.
Not meant to be insulting.
I do want to think about the economics of buying cable but also picture quality is important. I don't know if there would be a difference between a TV display and a projector in that kind of setup.
I did checkout the Redmere Cables and their prices seem very reasonable.
