Cost has to be a primary reason as IB supposedly has great sound quality. For overall output/cost a horn has got to be tops, but it needs a hpf along with the time and materials that quickly add up.

The efficiency, the cost, getting a lot more performance out of a driver, increased air coupling, no back wave to worry about. IB is great though, I don't want to sell it too short, I just see horns and specifically Tom Danley's tapped horns to be pretty much the Baddest, most awesome things on the planet!
