need some help

I have done much searching and found nothing so I am offering it up to HTS: Does anybody make a 110" diagonal curved scope screen with masking for under $15,000? I have found several DIY masking screen threads but not I'm not confident in my patience to build one.

Well I am going to use a low lumen led projector in the sim2 mico 40 but also to combat distortion from my anamorphic lens. I was under the impression from my installer that in this application a curved screen is of significant importance. Thanks for reply I really appreciate everyones willingness to help each other and offer advice

You can find a 110" curved scope screen for under $2k: http://www.seymourav.com/store.asp
That would give you $13k for a masking solution?

Any screens that I've seen that include a masking setup are not cheap, but some of the standalone masking solutions can be had for a few thousand (not cheap, but I imagine you get what you pay for).

There are several curved screen choices with masking at that size point that are under 15K. First we need to determine if a curved screen is even needed. What is your throw distance? If you are talking about a 101" wide 2.35 screen (110" diagonal) then as long as your throw distance is 12'-9" or more, you do not need to go with a curved screen. If your throw is much greater than 12'-9" then a curved screen will distort your image even more. The throw ratios below 2.0 benefit from a curved screen. Those above 2.0 do not benefit from a curved screen. I use a curved AT screen with an A-lens. My screen is 107" wide 2.40 (EN4K material) and my throw is short 11'-1", so I need a curved screen. If you would like some help with this, shoot me a PM.

Re: need some help

I recall reading some posts by Dennis Erskine recommending against curved screens unless absolutely needed... But he made an interesting point that some rooms with a very wide viewing angle (wide seating placement) can benefit from curved.
