Anyone familiar with this screen? SC-WALLGRY-106H

I currently use a 90" Black out cloth screen that I made. Based on my projector (optoma HD66) and throw distance (12' 6"), I need a screen in the 101" - 111" according to Optoma. I found a guy who has a new in box Infocus SC-WallGry-106H screen for $200. I can't find much info about the screen so I'm hoping someone here can help. Since the room will just be used for movie watching, I prefer the fixed frame look over a pull down. Any info will be appreciated. Thanks

The only thing I can tell you about that screen is what I find on the web. It is a gray vinyl fixed screen with a listed gain of 0.8 and retails for $1246. It is also discontinued. The cheapest I found it is about $800.

I suspect the image you get off that screen will be close to what you are getting with your BOC, but the blacks might be a bit better since it is a darker gray than BOC.

That was the same basic info that I found. I'm trying to decide whether I can make a decent 106" screen for the same or less money. If not, then I need to find a manufactured screen in that range. It will be a "long term temporary" screen. Thanks for the help.

If you want to make a Home Theater Screen, take a look at some of these ideas:

http://www.hometheatershack.com/foru...Theater+screen

If you need more; look at the top menu bar (in black) at the top of any page; click "Home" On the Home page look in the left column; next scroll down to the third Home Theater heading (Video sub-heading). Here you will find many tried and true screen paint formula'. You will want to read a few to begin with since each is specifically designed to meet certain requirements, this is my understanding. There are some very knowledgeable people at HTS and paint formula' are tested and continue to improve. As you read you will find recommendations and descriptions of uses, where to buy etc.

We believe everything we tell ourselves..., don't we??
