software that will convert a scanned page to text

Does anybody know if there is some free software that will convert a scanned page to text that I can edit? It was a training manual that is did up a few years ago in nice easy to read english for persons who wanted to learn to do FOH mixing in our church and I wanted to post it here. I misplaced the actual word document but still have a hard copy of it.

Thanks
