I look at those and think of the 80's?memorex commercial where the guy is sitting in front of the speakers and holding on to the chair. And just a thought for anyone building a large cabinet, measure the doors you have to bring them thru.a 32" cab won't go though a 30" doorway!

Graham

I have not done much other than listen to the subs, I have been very busy at work, I have worked every day since mid September. I hope to touch base with you mid Feb and maybe do some graphs.

I see. What happens if you run the same amount of power, but to two subs versus one? What is the gain then?
You get +3dB for double the power and + 3dB for double the swept area. Hence +6dB for two subs.

Re: IXL 18.2.2 HT Build (10.0 cu ft 15hz)

If the sub is stacked on top then adding a second sub should yield you a 6db increase although it could be less. So try and imagine with Gregg's as he has two identical subs stacked. I would love to see some sweeps of 1 sub then add the second followed by the third and fourth. Just to see the results.

How about it Gregg? Have you managed to run any sweeps yet?

My subs are co-located and I notice quite a big difference to my ear by adding the second sub and there is less need for EQ'ing as I get a much flatter response. The bass doesn't sound so located as it did with one sub.

Nice! How many decibels does adding an additional driver add? And is that if you put the same amount of power to it, also?

I did the whole design for Gregg. Here you go. Now try and imagine 4 off these!

I reckon the way he has them stacked he'g gotta be looking at well over 120db at 15-20hz.

cheers

Graham
