Re: The Last Stand - Blu-ray Review

For me, the audio and video were the only good things about this movie. The acting and the script were downright horrible. If I had it to over again, this would be a rental only at most. I might watch it again in a few weeks to see if maybe it was a mood thing in the way, but it's doubtful that was the case.

Re: The Last Stand - Blu-ray Review

I watched it over the weekend and I was surprised at how bad the writing and acting was; I knew going in it was going to be a cheeseball movie but it's pretty bad when Johnny Knoxville can deliver lines better than most everyone else in the cast.

The movie itself is hardly worthy of 1 1/2 stars but the sound is a solid 4 stars with some great LFE moments. Rental at best I say!

Got a chance to watch this one --- wow, it set my audio system ON FIRE!! What an audio treat. Mike, you used the word dynamic. I think that says it all.

It's a fun story... and even arnold in his tired state pulls it off (again).

I really enjoy these kinds of flicks... I'll happily leave this one in my collection.

Unfortunately, Arnold does not "intimidate" anymore. He did not have to speak, in the Terminator movies, to scare you. Now...he just looks like the rest of us. Old.

Re: The Last Stand - Blu-ray Review

Hey Mike, Thanks for this review!! I did miss this one in the movie theater, but my son watched it when it was released and said I "HAVE" to see it and get it on bluray. I don't know if this will be a purchase, but it will be a rental for sure!

Thanks for the review Mike!

Ah, to be taken back to the glorious 80s-90s movies - sounds like a fun ride!
not as perfect as many of the old 80's and 90's movies but definitely a valiant effort. Personally I think "Bullet to the Head" with Stallone did a better job, but I'm hoping arnold's new one "the tomb" with Stallone goes back to those old roots

This one is definitely on my buy list as soon as the price drops a bit.

Re: The Last Stand - Blu-ray Review

I have had my eye on this one since the first trailer came out and had planned on renting it from Redbox but after reading your review Mike, I will definitely be adding this one to my growing collection of Blu-Ray movies. Thank you, nice review btw

I'm on it... I'm sure I'll probably watch this and cringe a few times, BUT I'm a big fan of the genre and I'm having a bit of a hard time letting go of the late 80's and early to mid 90's.
I'm with ya on the bolded part
