Re: MDS Audiophile 12" car subwoofer. Need help finding model/info.

That sub is so old that there seems to be very little online. Here is the same sub in a ported enclosure:

You could put together a measurement system to get the parameters but, whats the point? One can find a high performing modern day sub for about $150-$200. Something like the Dayton Audio RS and Ultimax series drivers or the Stereo Integrity drivers, etc. Is this going to be for home or car?

You can use REW to measure the parameters. http://www.roomeqwizard.com/wizardhe...small.html#top
The program can be downloaded here: http://www.roomeqwizard.com/wizardhelpv5.zip

Re: MDS Audiophile 12" car subwoofer. Need help finding model/info.

Thanks for your answer! since I'm new at this, I don't have the tools needed to measure. also i don't know how to do it, I would need to know two things.

1. The wattage. My guess is 300 - 400W at the most.
2. I need to know the Hertz It's supposed to handle. How can i figure this out by testing it myself?

Thanks.

Without a model number I think the only way to get the specs would be to measure them.

MDS Audiophile 12" car subwoofer. Need help finding model/info.

Hello, I have an old subwoofer that is from the 1980.s (i think). Many people think that it is an audiophile series. Since I'm not very good with subwoofers i ask you guys for help instead. I've googled like crazy without finding anything. I'm going to build a ported box with this subwoofer (right now It's in a sealed box). That's why i need some info about it. Greetings!
