What is in the set? What does the service manual say?

Looking for me, just google my username. I have used the same one for most sites for many years.

I am sorry I am unsure of what you mean?
It is a Panasonic PT-56wx52cf. I dont have the Service manual so I don't know but I am sure it would not tell me that you can use a 5watt inplace of a 2watt resistor.

If a two watt is what is in the set, a five might work. I do not recommend such changes, but it is unlikely to hurt anything. The pins may not fit in the board. My recommendation is to replace with the right part unless there is a good reason to change it. I always recommend having the service manual to be able to verify circuits, parts, and to align the set properly. You can get manuals for prices from free to about $20 in most cases. As a pro I would not service a set without one unless absolutely necessary. I certainly would not recommend it for someone less experienced.
