Philips 46PP93 0217 CRT rotation problem

Hello.

I just replaced the two convergence chips on this set for a friend. When I enter the manual convergence screen, the red and blue are perfectly aligned. Both move horizontally and vertically just fine. The green is the fixed color, but it has a problem. It seems like the green bulb has been rotated 5 degrees anti-clockwise! I aligned the red and the blue to the green, but the entire picture looks like its slanting bottom left. I removed the PCB and checked my solder connections with a microscope, and the enitre board for stray pieces of solder. I also checked the routing of the cables, but nothing seems abnormal.

I checked the crt gun, its securely mounted, and does not rotate. Did I bump one of the yokes accidentally while removed the PCB initially? I would like to take a picture, but I don't have access to a camera at the moment.

Any suggestions?

You likely pulled on the yoke wire and rotated the green deflection yoke. Just rotate it until it is as straight as possible and then rotate the red and blue to match it. The set screws should be snug enough when you are done to keep them from moving, but do not over tighten them or you could crack the neck of the tube.

Also, be sure that your wires are dressed like they were when you took it apart.

Looking for me, just google my username. I have used the same one for most sites for many years.

You were right. I loosened the clamp a little bit and rotated the yoke. It sure is touchy! Slight movement sends the picture rolling! Thank you very much!
