SD-533HD5 Convergence issue / Green Shaky

We have just moved into our new house and the previous owners left the TV behind. I have tried setting the convergence with the remote and with the buttons on the front of the set but none of the colors moved except for the shakiness in the green. At one point while trying to set it the green went from shaky to gone. It eventually came back on after i was done trying to set the convergence. Soldering isnt a problem for me, so if it is as simple as changing the IC's then sure. I am guessing the previous owners tried something as there are many screws missing from the back and one from the front.

Please read the first ten posts of the convergence repair sticky in the DIY Repair forum VERY carefully.

Re: SD-533HD5 Convergence issue / Green Shaky

I found a blown resistor on the green channel on the output side of the IC, would that explain the shakiness in that color. Would the STK392-150 be the best replacement.

I couldnt read the resistor so i found it in the service manual and it is RS2MMF1R5J, can i use just any 1.5 OHM resistor or do i need exact parts.

Re: SD-533HD5 Convergence issue / Green Shaky

My second question was not answered, so could the burnt resistor be causing the green to be shaky since it is on the green output channel. I do not know enough about these type of T.V.'s for me to be certain about anything.

Sorry I missed your answer and did not answer.

Actually, the question is answered in the convergence thread. A stk50 can always replace a stk110.

The hard part is getting quality parts these days.
