SI 15"

I built 2 ported subs (slot). I am curios if anyone else has done a build using these drivers, and if so what were your dimensions and how do you like your results.

If no one has, what and how would you have built two enclosures, to get the best possible results?

Mine are better than what I had (which is none), I have heard better smaller sealed ( don't know name).

Hope to learn something new, and know how to use it.

Google Martysub, Martycube.

Avs forum is filled with builds on this and lots of thoughts.

I'm working on a similar build. Most do a 4 cubic square foot box or bigger tuned to about 18hz before you hit the -12db limit.

Diysoundgroup has a cube15 box that's a Martycube type build. It's likely what I am going to buy.

Something I think needs to be done is to run REW. Is this what needs to be done to know what these things are putting out?

Hope to learn something new, and know how to use it.

REW lets you know what your ROOM looks like with regards to response. As such every room's REW graph will look a bit different. So you cant use someone else's REW graphs really to know what the sub response will be in your room, as again, room layout, configuration, equipment is all different room to room

Most people graph the sub in WinISD to get a general idea of overall response. Now WinISD doesnt take into account room gain, etc, but you use REW after you've built it to EQ it.

WinISD graphs have been generated already.

WinISD graphs here

Read up on some of these threads

Now the SI 15 isnt mentioned, but it measures in WinISD VERY SIMILAR.

Here is my SI 15" sub in a MartyCube. Look at the picture to see what filters I am planning on using. My amp is a Dayton SA-1000 which puts out 1000 watts @ 4 ohms and I've got the D2 sub which will provide a 4 ohm load...

Re: SI 15"

How do I make my win isd project available for all to see? I would like to know what thoughts are on it. Project is complete and for the most part I am satisfied for home theater, however it is really lacking tight punchy bass for complimenting 2 channel.

Hope to learn something new, and know how to use it.
