Group delay

Hi guys

I am building a ported ultimax 18 in 11 cu ft. Want to use a minidsp and pro amp. The minidsp can implement a 8th order butterworth or linkwitz at 14hz. This brings excursion into control without too much spl loss. Only concern now is that group delay went up to 150m/s at 12hz. At 20hz it is down to 50m/s and gets lower as frequency rises.
Are these figures bad? Also does group delay rise with output. Meaning if am listening at lower levels will group delay decrease?

Appreciate any advice

Re: Group delay

150 meters per second or 150 milliseconds?

I would not be concerned with group delay unless at frequencies that are >500hz. And when dealing with a low ported cabinet the group delay that seems high are with waves that are so huge and the delay usually equates to a cycle of the woofer or 2 cycles. Thats all. Seems like the number would mean a lot more but it doesnt. Your not going to hear that difference at all.
