I have an ep2500. Could power two of these with that amp.

Re: Danley Sound Labs, DTS-10 " Super Spud" kit and build thread

it looks beautiful. one thing that gets me though, I though a really good horn was only good for about 2 octaves, with 15Hz being bottom ( or is it 11Hz?) wouldn't 60Hz (44Hz if 11Hz is the bottom) be the top? So what's this 100Hz stuff???

I should get my kit tomorrow. It's supposed to be delivered between 3-6:30pm. Looks like it'll be a few days on the drivers though.

Why aren't they shipping the drivers at the same time?

Ahh..the suspense is killing me. I really want to see what YOU guys think of what it sounds like. Since you guys have some killer sub setups...

The 100Hz remark was based on the initial frequency response curves that have been posted and also based on what we know of how tapped horns work. It looks like DSL can get a good three octaves to a decade of response from these subs. So 10 to 80-100Hz or maybe 15 to 120-150Hz?

See the DTS-20 and TH Spud as examples. I believe the DTS-10 uses the same driver as the DTS-20, but it uses a similar layout as the TH Spud.

From Danley Sound Labs d0t com

DTS-20
18 Hz - 100 Hz

TH Spud
19 Hz - 125 Hz

They ran out of them and they are waiting on a shipment to come in. It's the same driver as in the DTS-20 and TH112. There has been an e-mail from Tom concerning another driver that it appears will work in the enclosure but I'm not at liberty to discuss it at this point. It's quite interesting though.

Thanks for the info. Is this mystery driver supposed to be an upgrade? Or is that classified info...

I would think it would be an upgrade to the maximum output capabilities on the low end. It's expensive though. That's about all I can say right now.
