Great work on those Gregg!! Your Statements and those subs are one hell of a combination. I showed a photo of them to my wife and she just grinned. I think that was her blessing for me to get started!

Good to hear that you're impressed with the result, Gregg. I'd love to see some final pics of the room too, and keep us updated on your experiments with positioning. With 4 subs you (theoretically) have a lot of options, so I'll bet by the time you settle on something it will sound amazing.
I may have some room pics tonight, my buddy and son-in-law are coming by tonight to help me stack the subs.
I have some room re-arranging to do, I plan on building a rack in the wall for all my equipment and also install a 106 or 120 inch screen (Owen I have seen you in the projector forum, my next stop).

And Doug, I am very happy with my Statements, I still have to apply a finish on them, it will be the same as the subs. The Statements and the Mach 5 subs are a good combination. Having said that, the subs are only for movies, the Statements are incredible for 2 channel music.

I am done, subs are in place and sound incredible, I am to old to play them loud.

I would like to thank Mark for the subs, Graham for the design and everybody who contributed and viewed the forum. I do not plan on building any speakers or subs for a while, it was fun. You will notice one of the Behringer amps on top of my original Polk Audio sub.

Gregg, wow. Those look great. I am not sure that people can really appreciate how much subwoofer is actually there without some frame of reference, such as that door. I have one sub of approx the same dimensions - the idea of 4 makes me giggle. It is interesting how one's perspective of 'well I will never need that much bass' changes, no, evolves is a better word, as time goes on. Again, excellent work.

Maybe I'll build one more, just one more....

There's still room for another 4!

Gregg,

Some REW graphs would be very interesting on those and maybe even a vid!!

The bass in your room is really going to be incredible that is for sure.

Also some latest pics too....

cheers

Re: Subwoofer Design Service

Are those as large as they look? When I first glanced at the photo, I thought that those were stacked washers and dryers. How large a listening room do you have?

Re: Subwoofer Design Service

Mike

They are as big as they look, my wife told me I was @#&% stupid when she seen the drivers, her mind has not changed but she does enjoy watching movies.

My room is 16ft wide by 28ft long and the ceiling is 12 ft high.

The subs sound as impressive as they look.

Did anyone model this setup with WinIsd? I'd like to see it, if so!

Re: IXL 18.2.2 HT Build (10.0 cu ft 15hz)

I did the whole design for Gregg. Here you go. Now try and imagine 4 off these!

I reckon the way he has them stacked he'g gotta be looking at well over 120db at 15-20hz.

cheers
