New Mac/IF :: 10.10 / Roland Octa-Capture

cant get it to calibrate
no matter what ive tried i get the same result
Brickwall at like 8k. Oscillator looks to go through from 2hz to 20k just fine.

Tried varied i/o settings, sample rates, channels.

Out of ideas.

Thanks

Andy

The recommendation for calibrating the sound card is really only needed for budget consumer sound cards. Pro audio interfaces, especially in the price range of the Roland, have ruler-flat response.

Thanks
Didnt realize not calibrating was an option.

BTW I also tried it using Soundflower with the same result.

I would feel better if I had an idea of why the calibration fails the way it does.

Re: New Mac/IF :: 10.10 / Roland Octa-Capture

Might be too much latency in the overall chain so the captured sweep is getting truncated, hence the sharp stop at about 9k. Try reducing the buffer settings on the soundcard preferences to 16k.

John

THANK YOU.

Thats it. Brought the buffer all the way down. All good.
Just didnt occur to me but it makes sense.

Works just like I hoped. No more soundflower or fighting with firewire.

Ready to take some measurements.

Thanks again.
