Question on "Info" panel

Hi,

What are the meanings of "Data range" and "Data offset", and "Peak" on the Measurement Info panel?

Do they relate to the measured SPL?

Thanks!

Re: Question on "Info" panel

Peak is the highest level in the impulse response, on a scale of 0 to 1, where 1 is represents full scale (the largest signal that the soundcard data can represent).

Data offset is the figure added to the values obtained by calculating the frequency response of the impulse so that the figures line up with actual SPL values, it may be derived from the sensitivity figure in a USB mic cal file or by going through the SPL calibration process on the REW SPL meter using an external meter as a reference.

Data range is the range of SPL values in the frequency response after the offset has been applied.

Re: Question on "Info" panel

John, thanks for answering!

I am trying to export an IR to use with Aurora for Audacity. In order to process the IR and calculate acoustic parameters such as C50, C80, etc., Aurora asks what was the corresponding full scale SPL. I suppose this is the maximum SPL that REW could measure after calibration. Well, this should be the difference between 0dBFS and the IR peak value then. The question is how to relate the IR peak to SPL? Is there any measurement info that provides such info?

Thanks!

Re: Question on "Info" panel

That shouldn't matter for the result, but the full scale SPL should be the same as the Data Offset.
