Making progress, continued help appreciated

I installed the 1.4 firmware and fired up the BFD over the weekend. It wasn't too hard to figure out how to enable the MIDI port thanks to the info here. I was able to successfully download a set of filters and see the results. I still have some questions please;

1. I downloaded them to position 4 and then saved them as proscribed. The red lights kept flashing after pressing the store button twice. Is this normal?

2. Will saving them to position 4 reload them automatically upon power up? If not, where/how (position 10?)

3. After downloading an intial set of filters, I took a new reading and found more peaks that I would like to filter out manually. Do I save them to a new position, or do I simply remember what they were and add them manually to the previous filter set before downloading them to the BFD?

4. Only one set of filters runs at a time, right?

What I did (and I'm sure it was wrong), was to install a 2nd set of filters, manually added to REW and then downloaded, to position 5. It appeared to work as I now have a really nice response curve, but I'm sure it'll disappear when rebooted.

Thanks again!

Nope. Pressing the store button twice stops all flashing. manually check that the filters are in PA mode and not anything else.

Yes.

Yes. Each program has the possibility of 12 active filters per channel. One program is active at a time.

Well, simply examine the filters in program 5 to see if they are what you want. If not, manually load them. Don't get all hung up on the midi. It takes longer to hook up the cable than it does to enter a set of filters by the front panel.

Thanks Bruce. Follow on question. If only one set of filters (a program) loads at a time, and you can save a set of filters to each position, how does BFD choose which program to load at startup?

It loads the same one that was being used at shutdown.......

brucek

Why are you shutting down the BFD. It draws about the same current as a night lite...

Thanks again. I don't have plans to shut it down regularly, but power goes out around here when it storms hard, and we're about to go into that season.
