miniDSP and using 12 filters

I am going to use the miniDSP 2x4 to EQ my home sub. The miniDSP selection will use 6 filters. If not using crossovers, one input to one output, then you should be able to use 12 filters. 6 on the input and 6 on the output. Anything wrong with this idea?

I can select generic and limit that to 12 and enter those into miniDSP but it might be nice to have a miniDSP 12 setting that assumes the above situation. In input to one output.

Sure is. If you need that many filters for a subwoofer, then you are most certainly over-equalizing. I suggest taking a look at my Minimal EQ article (link in my signature), especially the first two posts.

Wayne

Re: miniDSP and using 12 filters

Thanks Wayne,

I had noticed REW generating a lot of filters, and more when I clicked generic. I would have trimmed a bunch of those. The 1/6 smoothing, and leave it wavey are good ideas. I can get down to two or three filters.
