The LMS doesn't model well as an LLT but who's to say I shouldn't.
I did make a vid of the sub bouncing a tennis ball. I tried to synchronize hitting the spl just as the ball hit the cone. I got the ball to bounce half way to the ceiling once. I don't know if I saved vid or not. I'll look.
The cone does move! I did solid tones from 10hz through 125hz. That is when I could get the cooling fan in the XTi to turn on. Those low hz s really suck up a lot of juice from the amp. The cone really moves. I thought I had bottomed the driver voice coil twice but it turned out that the amp limiter was making an oscillating sound almost the same as a voice coil bottoming. now THAT was scary.

reminds me of the clipping vid from wiggins with a 10" Brahma

Great Job Phil Any chance we could see a REW FR?
Hi Ahmed, thanks.
Ilkka tested the LMS 5400 in a 100L sealed box and later a 200L sealed box. Those results cover all aspects of a drivers performance. My LMS and box are almost identical in terms of size 190L vs 200L. Ilkka was testing his LMS at about the same time I was building mine and I never felt the need to acquire the equipment and do my own FRs.
I've always wondered though about the in-room FR and what it was I was achieving by using the PEQ of the XTi.
Using REW would answer a lot of the in-room questions. I really should do it. I've been such a procrastinator.

LOL, I gotta laugh every time I see one of those "excursion" videos . . . . especially the ones where the driver burns up or the sub actually loosens the windshield of the car!
The Titanium cone of the LMS (actually an inverted dome) was able to keep the tennis ball centered as it bounced. Don't get me wrong . . . . I wasn't playing tennis all day with the LMS and I didn't try to bounce anything heavier like a truck battery or anything like that!

Hey Warp,
Thanks for the warning. I'm supposed to fly to Rhinelander around that time in February with a stop in Milwaukee. Wouldn't that be something to actually do voice coils together?
Keep me informed of any changes, I'm flying non-rev and can change my fly dates.

That'd be cool if you could attend Phil. I'm gonna be there with some of my "weaponry".

Great job, I use Crown amps also and love them. Congrats....
Hey TC, have you down loaded the 1.9.0 version of System Architect? I see Crown has made additions and adjustments for XTi's. I have not yet down loaded it.

Ahhhh, the weapons meister! Ricci this is sounding more like a "theater of war" rather than a "Home Theater" get together. I'll do the Recon.
