Viewing saved peak data from RTA spectrum

I have saved RTA spectrum views with the SAVE button, and then these are saved in an *.mdat file, but I haven't worked out how to view this saved "peak data" again in the RTA, if indeed I can.

Re: Missing distortion measurements

Thanks, now I understand: it's the cursor position for which readings in the graph legend (= "panel" in my question) are shown.

I had looked in the REW V5.19 HELP (PDF) first but could not find...

Missing distortion measurements

When I perform a sine sweep measurement and select the distortion display the measurements of distortion (% or dBr of the harmonics or THD) are often not displayed in the lower panel. The attached...

Re: Date stamp on saved graph from RTA

Excellent! That's a really useful outcome from this exchange. Thank you. I look forward to the next beta version.

Re: Date stamp on saved graph from RTA

What I discovered yesterday, more by luck than judgement, was: When a measurement has been saved (SAVE button on the RTA or a swept-sine measurement) then the date stamp window in the RTA view is...

Re: Date stamp on saved graph from RTA

Of course, the first graph (of hum and noise from a Quad 405 amplifier) is dated Feb 19 (bottom left).

The second graph (after replacement of defective capacitors) was recorded on 2nd April, but...

Date stamp on saved graph from RTA

Hi,
I haven't been able to discover what controls the creation of the date and time stamp on the saved graph of the RTA. When I save a spectrum measurement as a JPEG I have sometimes had the date...

Re: understanding THD distortion measurements

Thank you very much. I was only looking in the 5.18 version of the help. I have downloaded 5.19 and will study this now, which may answer another question.

understanding THD distortion measurements

I have a two-way loudspeaker system in which I do not understand the THD

measurements I obtain with REW. The woofer THD measures like this (first jpg) 148412

before the crossover filtering (low...

Re: Safe amplifier distortion measurement?

Thanks. This is the approach in the ARTA handbook as well: -20dB and zeners.

Safe amplifier distortion measurement?

Although I had successfully measured amplifer distortion at the loundspeaker terminals, when I did this a second time I managed to damage my inbuilt PC sound card.

I was not using a voltage...

Re: Resonant decay with frequency drift?

Thanks. Now I understand the limitations better. Would some of this not be useful information for the HELP file? Can I assist the writer of that?

Re: Resonant decay with frequency drift?

Thank you. Following your explanation I experimented with the window values. Then I realised that I have become accustomed to using 1/3 octave filtering which smooths the curves into an orderly...

Resonant decay with frequency drift?

In examining the sound decay in my listening room of an open baffle loudspeaker system with the REW software I have observed that some resonances appear to increase in frequency with decay whereas...

gated frequency response

I have been gating the impulse response of measurements in order to understand better the room contribution (floor/ceiling reflections) to the sound my speaker system produces. This has been most...

Re: No distortion graph

Thanks JohnM. I have installed 5.18 and achieved distortion graphs for measurements I made today. However, I wasn't able to find the graphs for the "bugged" measurements.

Earlier I had a problem...

No distortion graph

Hi,
I have been using REW 5,16 (Windows XP) for nearly a year and have just turned my attention to the distortion graph for earlier measurements of speaker performance made with a swept sine signal....
