Re: REW & MiniDSP. Have I got this right?

That's how I'm using the mini-DSP. Did go for balanced version, just like Wayne suggests. Then again, I do not require extra delay: speakers and subs are on an arc, less than 5'/1,5m away from LP....

Re: REW & MiniDSP. Have I got this right?

The 2.1 advanced plugin looks right for your case (movies & stereo).

Re: How does one know when they have enough subwoofer?

Yes, talking about REW, freeware is what comes to mind...
That's why I was puzzled to read you specifying "freeware copy", I read it as if some other type existed.. Obviously not, :whew:
But then...

Re: UMIK-1 and miniDSP plugin 2Way adv and ASIO drivers issue

Well, like JohnM said, ASIO is just a different interface, so if you 're getting good results with the JAVA drivers stick with that! Besides, you have a UMIK, so no need to control in-out soundcard...

Re: LPF in both Outputs

You 're talking passive filters again... last time I checked, a hefty coil would cost me ~80 Euro, double that for 2 subs... and I would only use it on that particular XO value... much easier to go...

Re: How many of you built your own cables?

Dear Wayne,

I am happily listening to the longer-and-thicker-than market-sold mini-jack to RCA stereo cable I made today.

I followed your instructions on soldering for "best noise rejection"...

Re: How do you define good Imaging? and good Soundstage?
