Re: Very low budget sub.

Well, I've got it all build and done. I'll post pictures tomorrow when I get to crank it up. =D I'm letting the woodglue dry overnight.

I went with a 20*20*40, since I'm not feeding it much with...

Re: Very low budget sub.

No, I meant just a 4.23 sealed set up, with out any of the PR's just to see the response vs. excursion.

Re: Very low budget sub.

What happens when only two are used?

** Edit: Could you model a 16*16*36 (= 4.23 ft^3 ) sealed? I can't get WinISD working for the life of me.

Re: Very low budget sub.

What would that vent do exactly? If sealed is what I have to do to get down to the lower 20's without exploding, that's fine I guess.

Re: Very low budget sub.

Hm, What about a 5 ft^3 with a 22hz port? Still lots of overexcursion?

Re: Very low budget sub.

22Hz. >_> I really want it, but I may just stick iwth a port if I'm going to have to get multiple PR's.

Re: Very low budget sub.

Well, I did it for just one PR (instead of two) and came up with 1307 grams, which is like 2.88 lbs. That has to be way too much, I mean, they sample driver they used was like 280 grams, which is...

Re: Very low budget sub.

Thanks, that link helped a lot.

* Hmm, I was doing it wrong, and when I plugged in the right numbers, I get something crazy like 23 lb's on each PR. What am I doing wrong?

Re: Very low budget sub.

Well I already have the $25 driver, so I guess I'll have to work with what I have. And I always like to try new things and experiment. So, PR's do that job.

18*18*45 box, with the two PR's on the...

Re: Very low budget sub.

So If I got two of those, get the enclosure size down to day, 5 c.u. ft, How well should/would it perform do you reckon?

Re: Very low budget sub.

What about, instead of using a port, I put this (http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=295-496) in there? That could probably cut down on the size of the enclosure and boost the low...

Re: Very low budget sub.

What about 20*20*35 (6.3 ft^3) tuned at 20. Here's what I came up with, but I can't check the Xmax with this program.

Re: Very low budget sub.

Well, I've figured up a few more things, and I'm thinking maybe a 20*20*45 (~8 ft^3) Because that gives an equal balance of db, and low hz compared to a smaller or bigger box, but I would love to...

Re: Very low budget sub.

Well that's good to hear as I just ordered one last night. I will be putting it in a 9.8 Cu ft. braced box with a ~20Hz tune. I'm hoping this will be a good upgrade from what I have, and I'm sure it...

Re: Very low budget sub.

I'll check that Elemental Designs sub out, looks good. I think that might suite me better than the Quattro anyway. But I'm not sure yet.

Re: Very low budget sub.

I might just get the amp now, and then wait a few weeks, try to get my current amp sold, or the whole sub, and buy a sub to match it. I might have to wait a while though because I can't think of...

Very low budget sub.

As of now, I have a small sealed 10" sub, powered by a 100watt amp that I got from PEx. I have a budget of about ~200 and was thinking about getting the 300watt BASH amp, and just some "good" car...
